The June 2021 issue of IOMP Medical Physics World is now available online!

Dear Colleagues,

We had a virtual meeting of the Council of the IOMP, and this issue of the Newsletter contains a brief report. In addition, the detailed President’s report presented to the Council is available. The Council meeting is typically held once in three years and items needing Council approval at other times are handled through email ballot.

We had 5 webinars during IMPW2021 (26-30 April) and recordings are available. The number of participants during IMPW2021 ranged 356 to 690 on different days. The distribution was: 56% Europe, North America and Latin America around 15%, Asia and Oceania 22% and Africa 7%. They were from more than 90 countries and time zone for participants varied from 5 am to 9:30 pm as starting time of webinar.

The dates for IMPW2022 have already been decided as 9-13 May 2022. You are encouraged to organize activities as per concept of IMPW available in previous year’s pages 2021 and  also at 2020.

The International Day of Medical Physics (IDMP) is approaching now on 7th Nov 2021. Please find updated information on IDMP webpage.  If you have been engaged in promoting medical physics to non-medical physics professionals and public, whether as an organization or as an individual, please reach out to us to share your experience.

The actions for the next World Congress on Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering have been started and you may visit WC2022 webpage for updated status. Although it is difficult to predict precisely, the current indications on pandemic do indicate that the conference shall be possible in-person. The call for abstracts is coming up soon.
