Standards play a crucial part in our lives. In healthcare, standards have an indispensable role for the proper functioning of medical devices, for correct transmission of information, for therapy, for monitoring and support in treatment, and much more. Thus, standards help manufacturers to produce safe medical devices with constant high quality and, as such, help competent authorities to ensure that medical devices in their country provide the performance they want for their citizens.The 3rd webinar will cover standards in diagnostic imaging equipment. Both speakers will give examples of the standardization process based on personal experience. The importance of active participation from experts with different background, both theoretical and practical, in the development of the IEC documents will be highlighted. The purpose of this series was to introduce medical physicists to new tools and methods that can be applied in QA routines to improve efficiency and quality of work. These methods include automation of image-based QA, application of model observers and AI-based image quality analysis. Topics related to patient specific dosimetry, dose tracking and protocol management systems; tools that are essential for a medical physicist have been discussed. Every webinar included a practical demonstration of a QA- or dosimetry-related topic.
