Katia Parodi (LMU München, Fakultät für Physik, Lehrstuhl für Experimentalphysik) übernimmt ab dem 01. Januar 2021 das Amt des Editors-in-Chief der Zeitschrift "Physics in Medicine and Biology" von Ihrem Vorgänger Simon R Cherry.

"It is a great honour to become the new Editor-in-Chief of PMB, the journal where I have published most of my scientific work since the beginning of my career. Having served on its editorial board since 2013, I have witnessed, and valued, the great legacy of my predecessor, and I am looking forward to working with the dynamic IOP Publishing team and worldwide international experts serving the journal at all levels to further advance its position in the biomedical field.Being on the verge of a dramatic evolution in interdisciplinarity and digitalization, we are offered great opportunities to shape the future, but must also be aware of challenges in coherently connecting different, often highly specialized, disciplines. To this end, we will do our best to continue expanding the scope of the journal with exciting new trends, while preserving well established topical areas, focusing on therapeutic procedures and medical imaging.
