Albanian Association of Medical Physics (AAMP) bittet um Unterstützung

President, Albanian Association of Medical Physics (AAMP), zu melden.

I am writing to kindly request the support of EFOMP regarding access to specific quality-control equipment needed for training, research, and service activities in Albania.

At present, AAMP collaborates closely with several PhD students and early-career researchers in the fields of radiological imaging, radiation protection, and medical physics. These researchers actively participate in national QA/QC activities and contribute to the continuous improvement of radiology services across our medical centers. However, our capacities remains limited in terms of advanced measurement tools and phantoms required for comprehensive quality-control procedures.

We currently use the RTI Piranha Multi  system (RTI Group), but lack several compatible devices that are essential for full-spectrum QA across modalities. With the support of EFOMP, we would greatly appreciate assistance in identifying associations, hospitals, research centers, vendors, or individual medical physicists who may be able to offer, loan, donate, or facilitate access to the following devices:

  • RTI CT Dose Profiler
  • Phantoms for radiography, fluoroscopy, CT/CBCT, mammography, and dental imaging
  • Panoramic/Dental holders and positioning accessories
  • Any additional QC accessories compatible with Piranha Multi
  •   Radiation dosimeters

These tools would significantly enhance the research activity of our PhD students, improve professional capacity within AAMP, and strengthen our national QA programs particularly as Albania continues to align with European standards in diagnostic radiology and radiation protection.

We would be grateful if EFOMP could circulate our request to relevant national societies, working groups, or medical physics departments, advise us on potential organizations willing to provide support, facilitate any possible connections with centers that have surplus or upgraded QC devices. We assure you that any equipment provided would be used responsibly for educational, clinical, and research purposes, maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

Thank you in advance for your consideration and for EFOMP’s continued support to smaller European medical physics communities.

We look forward to your guidance and remain at your disposal for any additional information.

Best regards,

Niko Hyka
